Hello!
Hello! My name is Katie and I am very pleased to meet you! I am a qualified teacher of English as a Foreign Language, and have taught both adults and children of all levels online. During lessons, I like to help my students feel relaxed and comfortable. I also like to make sure that my students have plenty of fun because English is such an exciting and interesting language to learn! I love English for many reasons and I'm really excited about being able to share my knowledge and passion with you!
As well as my TEFL and CELTA qualifications, I also have degrees in English and Librarianship. I have taught English to students from all over Europe and Asia, and have really enjoyed experiencing new cultures and making new friends. I enjoy travelling and have family all over the world, from Spain and Germany to as far as Japan! In my spare time, I really enjoy baking…and eating what I bake! I am often asked by friends and family to bake for them whether it be for a celebration or just because they fancy something sweet. My brownies and chocolate chip cookies are family favourites! I also love to read, colour, visit museums and the theatre, and go to the cinema.

Teaching Style
As a teacher, I am very relaxed, friendly, and always happy to help. I really don’t mind if you make mistakes because it’s a natural part of learning, and I will work with you to help you understand them. My teaching style involves as much student talking time as possible, to provide you with plenty of opportunity to practise and develop your English skills. This should help you become more confident and natural when using the language. However, please don’t worry if you are nervous or shy because I am very patient and understand that learning a new language can be very scary – I won’t make you do anything you’re not comfortable with! Finally, I am always happy to adapt to your needs and learning style. For example, I can build our lessons around a particular grammar point or topic of conversation that you may want to focus on, or, if they are helpful for you, I can provide visual aids like flashcards. If you’re not sure what your needs or learning style are, then I’m sure we'll be able to find something to work on together!
