Hello!

Hi! My name is Deb. I live in the US. I am a mostly retired professional. I am here to help you practice your English, by speaking with you. One of my favorite things is to meet people from different countries and cultures. I have traveled around the world to many countries. I have made many friends doing so. I will draw on my own life, work and teaching experiences to help you, especially my own experience learning and speaking Spanish while living in Ecuador. I look forward to meeting you.

I am relaxed and low-key. I believe in treating others the way we ourselves would like to be treated. I work at trying to be kind. I am a good listener. I have a number of interests, including photography, travel, walking, hiking, theatre, art, culture, museums, reading, writing, movies and more. I like meeting new people and trying new things. Every day is a new adventure.

Teaching Style

I will work with you to discover what works best for you, and what subjects you would like to talk about. I will draw on my own life, work and teaching experiences, especially my own experiences learning and speaking a new language when I lived in Ecuador for four years. I learned the most speaking with a local woman who did not fill in my words or correct me every single time I was slow or made a mistake. I also learned the most when people spoke slowly, and used words that were easier for me to understand. I will do these things with you, unless they do not work for you. I will support and encourage you every step of the way.
