Hello!
Hi! My name is David and I'm a retired college professor living New Orleans, Louisiana. My goal in the classroom is to help you become better at speaking English and I hope to meet you soon!
I have 11 years of teaching experience as a college professor. Before joining Cambly in 2021 I taught English to Chinese children online for 2 years. Prior to teaching, I spent over 20 years as a management executive in the advertising agency industry and 6 years as an entrepreneur managing my own consulting practice. I’ve spent most of my adult life living in New York City. In my spare time I enjoy listening to jazz music and eating great food. Did you know jazz music originated in New Orleans? The city is also known for having some of the best food in America. What a perfect place for me to live!

Lively and engaging! I enjoy covering a wide range of topics and teaching methods. I am a good listener with the goal of encouraging my students to speak more than myself during sessions to build their skills. Students who are eager to learn will enjoy my teaching style of engaging with gentle corrections at appropriate opportunities. My approach is to be student-focused with student need as the #1 priority. I seem to work best with, and prefer, adult intermediate and advanced students in 30 minute private sessions who want to be corrected after every mistake. I also especially enjoy group lessons with students of all levels!
